We are like trees. We hope to be as trees, in Christ. We all start as a seed and we grow, not of our own power, but from nutrients in the soil where we're planted, from the life giving water that soaks in through our roots, from the sun that shines down upon us to give us energy. Our roots keep us grounded, they keep us secure. They spread deep and wide in search for more life giving water, for more nutrients in soil. Trees become strong and great the longer they're planted. When uprooted, they die, despite how large, mighty, young or old they may be. The sun is the holy light if God, shining on us. It is the Holy Spirit that guides us upward, toward it's source of power, toward heaven. We long for the energy, the power and the warm comfort of God, Christ & the Holy Spirit. This power revitalizes us, produces fruit, strengthens us and provides shade for those in need of comfort and protection. The soil is our environment, our house, our church or even our state of mind in which we're planted. Some soil is loose, some is packed tightly and some is toxic. Soil determines the start of the tree, but given the right circumstances and other elements, does not determine the end of the tree. The tree still has his DNA, which determines his ultimate potential, yet the wrong environment can inhibit proper growth. Along with the soil, is how much if it there may be. Ground filled with many trees is a forest. It offers protection, shade and comfort. And a tree planted in isolation is a sweet retreat for the weary. God is who decides what we can become but our actions can determine if we bear fruit. When we're in alignment with him, water ourselves with the word, planting ourselves in his house, growing through time, perseverance and patience, and stretch towards his life giving warmth, we have no choice but to bear fruit. We have no choice but to be mighty, to provide shelter and shade and to have confidence. A healthy tree firmly planted is not easily removed.
