How can the only choices for the face of a people be those who represent the worst parts of it: the liars, frauds, selfish and greedy, who spout empty promises and continue the path that is obviously already pointed in the wrong direction for both its people and land? The following are the only logical probabilities to the current situation: One: Those are truly the only, and best, public facing options to represent the nation. This is clearly not the case, as the only way to become the face is to be so high up a ladder that's held together by dead men's bones, blind eyes and lies that, in turn, that person is no different than a rung for their successors. Two: The people who actually control the nation are hidden from plain site yet are unable to stabilize the false reality they've perpetuated in order to remain in power. This is a possibility, albeit not the highest probability, as there would be an extremely sophisticated and strategic underbelly that would have been routed out by now. Although some think they've discovered it in the "elites", I don't believe there could be an organized hive mind strategical enough to plot the sad reality set before us. Three: There's a greater evil at play, or rather, a greater game betwixt nations: a game of numbers, of quantity over quality, with no regard for the future of anyone but themselves and a mindset of excessive use and disposal. In this case, the face of a nation, or faux leadership, doesn't really matter as the pieces continue to play autonomously to obtain more wealth and control. This is highly probable as money is considered the greatest asset beyond natural, sustainable resources, exhaustible resources and even human lives. Just like any corporation, the higher the number, the better, and nothing else matters. Four: The most horrific possibility is that the most intelligent and common sensical individuals are bread to live in the most unheard and undiscoverable way, with those breaking out of this mold forced to form and comply to the currently broken standards or be snuffed out by those who perpetuate control, when the smarter, smaller people, may in fact, have better ideas for quality of life and longevity of nature. This is the most probable scenario as it keeps the powerful in isolated bubbles to a certain extent and also explains the intelligent and artistic individuals that remain intentionally undiscovered or covered up when revealed. Diamonds form under pressure, but are only brought to the surface by miners; then chiselled to a desired shape and sold to the highest bidder, much like these people. There's no long term hope for a nation involving any of these possibilities with any efforts following these paths delaying the inevitable. Because of the stubbornness of those who deem themselves worthy, reformation is at hand.
