Whether one believe that we evolved from apes which evolved from bacteria, or whether one believes that we stem from and were made by a creator, there can be no doubt that, at this time in history, we have superiority in intelligence as a species on this planet. This is evident not only due to technological advances, but our ability to work together, separately and individually to accomplish great things creatively, fulfill desires and supply needs beyond what other creatures on this planet are able to do. Because of this, we humans have dominion over this planet, whether by inheritance or evolution. With dominion comes stewardship, as control is no good when there is nothing left to have sovereignty over. Without proper stewardship not only is the environment itself destroyed, but us with it.
As humankind develops further, beyond our wildest imaginations, we must continue to understand that stewardship and dominion not only apply to nature, but to each other as well as ourselves and our mind, will and emotions. In order to properly steward through domination as a species, we must keep in mind that dominion come with unspoken boundaries, rules and laws, directly due to the fact that in order to properly steward, we must care for that which we steward. If we continue to abuse our dominion, forfeiting our stewardship, it will be taken away, either by the hands of others, nature, or ourselves.
When the first humans came into consciousness, or developed higher consciousnesses, we did not pursue progress as a means to generate money, because money didn't exist. We pursued progress based on the collective needs, wants and desires of ourselves, as no man is an island, and in practice, individuality reveals itself a farce. Though humans can live totally independently, we would not be to the point we are today without each other, the environment around us, nature and creatures we choose to dominate or not. Therefore, we are not self governed, but rather, governed by unseen laws and forces that require balance in order to maintain stability.
If we are to continue in the pursuit of personalized happiness through riches, rather than collective happiness, our pursuit will turn into nothing more than a crusade of destruction for humankind, the world around us and ourselves. The natural environment exudes balance in all aspects yet we are imbalanced in our hearts, minds and collective nature as we continue to see our individual selves as the most important aspect to this existence.
What happens when there is nothing to have dominion over?
What happens when our stewardship is failure beyond recognition?
What happens when we destroy rather than create?
What happens when our creations are deemed more important than other creation that already exists?
What happens when we lose our identity as humans for the sake of a self proclaimed identity?
What happens when our desires create chaos and hardship for all else?
What happens when we value money over substance?
Will we be allowed to continue in our imbalanced pursuits by unseen forces?
If humankind continues in its path toward financial gains over the balance of nature, balance will win out, regardless of our faith in a higher power, belief in progress, truths or lies that we tell ourselves in order to have our choices make sense to us.
By the evolutionarily given or God given laws of dominion and stewardship, we cannot fight nature, but rather, must work with it, in all of its perfections, to further perfect ourselves and those around us. The irony is that while nature works perfectly, the small imperfections is what makes it beautiful, as no tree, mountain our cloud is identical, neither should we be, as we are ultimately an extension of our environment.
When we learn to embrace each other as equal humans, embrace nature as our kin and embrace our gifts as a gift to all, money will fade out of importance and we will become beacons of flourishing.
